Omar Abboud is a Lebanese-Canadian pianist and data scientist based in New York City. Beginning his piano studies at the age of four with Sophia Poroger, Omar has won top prizes in Canadian competitions including the Toronto Kiwanis Festival and the Canadian Music Competition. Since 2013, Omar has studied in the studio of renowned Georgian-American pianist and pedagogue, Eteri Andjaparidze. He has since performed at venues including Steinway Hall In New York, Symphony Space, Weill & Zankel Halls at Carnegie Hall, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the American University of Beirut, and the Edward Said National Conservatory in Ramallah, Palestine. Omar holds a Licentiate’s Diploma in Piano Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music of Canada, where he graduated with first-class honours, an M.S. in Computational Science from Harvard University, and a B.S. in Operations Research from Columbia University.
